At our on-site fishing shop, we stock everything you need to get you out on the water to hopefully catch the big one. It’s the best place to buy fishing permits and fishing tackle.

Listen to the advice from the fishery shop and ask the staff who are normally found working on the fish rearing cages or around the rescue boat – they know by heart the best drifts to fish and sheltered bays for windy days.

Llyn Brenig is recognised as one of the premier top-of-the-water fisheries in the UK. With its 23km of shoreline, it’s one of the best places to go fishing in Conwy.

Remember to fish the lake by boat for the best experience, and book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Fishing Permits

You can buy permits on site at the fishing shop using contactless payment. You can also buy them from the machines in the car park.

Fishermen buying permits are exempt from the parking charge.

Permits for the Alwen Reservoir allow trout fishing by spinning, natural fly and single natural worm except north of the bridge, where it is fly only.

A wide selection of tackle, artificial baits and lures are available to buy with expert advice on hand from our shop staff. We also stock a range of clothing from top brands. We understand how important it is to be comfortable when you are fishing. Our exceptional range clothing for all seasons ensures you can perform to your very best.

We also offer pike fishing annually from October to March. With dead sea bait and lures over 6 inches allowed over the winter, the lake is best fished by boat.
