Take your two wheels along the spectacular shoreline path and into the depths of the shady forest, to discover breathtaking views and stunning scenery.
If you don’t have your bike with you or you are new to cycling, you can hire bikes at Llyn Brenig.
Enjoy a rewarding cycle on the 7 mile circular trail around Cronfa Alwen, taking approx. 1.5 hours to complete.

Pick up the markers for the forest track to start your ride.
Approx 1 ½ miles in, don’t miss the marker on your left that takes you through the trees down to the spectacular shoreline path.
Follow the shore, through the gate and through the forest! Out of the trees, left to the path and then left to the wooden bridge across the lake.
Keep climbing to the top & see amazing views both left and right. Drop down, through the gate, follow the way-markers as you twist and turn back to the lakes edge.
Head back to the dam, across and back into the car park where it all began!
Head across the dam and follow the shoreline trail that takes you up in to the trees – at all times watch out for cyclists, who are asked to ride this route anti-clockwise.
Follow the trail markers, taking you along wide forest track, twisting and turning over bridges and along single file wooded paths
Up the hill, through the gate and up to the top of Mynydd Hiraethog – Spectacular 360 degrees views from here! Drop down the other side, bringing you to the wooden bridge.
Across the bridge, straight ahead through the gate and pick up the trail markers on your right hand side.
Through the forest, bringing you back to the shoreline before taking you back to the forest road where a right turn will take you back to the Alwen car park.
