Absolutely love this place. So many stunning walks. It’s a wonderful place to spend time as a family. Gorgeous park for the children. Large cafe area. Great for bikes, scooters and you can hire boats.Google Review- 2020
If 2500 acres of forest, moorland and lakes is not quite enough, we also have an Adventure Playground. Outdoor play has huge mental and physical benefits for the young and young at heart, so a visit here is time well spent.
It is perfectly positioned near the visitor centre with views for days across the water. You can keep a close eye on the kids while enjoying a drink from the nearby hot drink vending machine, grab a take away from the café in the visitor centre or bring your own picnic.
The large, dedicated play area has swings, slides, climbing frames, rockers and the ever-popular mini zip wire. Visit before or after you explore the peace and tranquillity of the forest and lakes but put it on your to do list. And remember shrieks of fun and laughter are positively encouraged here.
A safe area for those with boundless energy to blow off steam with freedom to run around and enjoy the fresh air. Here you may also see the lesser-spotted competitive dad in his natural habitat swinging from the monkey bars.
Children must be supervised at all times in the Adventure Playground but zooming down the zip wire is not obligatory for grown ups (although we bet you will be tempted). Please also keep dogs out of this area.
Top Tip – allow extra time for your visit as getting the kids to leave here is never easy!
