Our Story

Absolutely love this place. So many stunning walks. It’s a wonderful place to spend time as a family.

Mummy Fever

Llyn Brenig is a river regulating reservoir that was completed in 1976. It helps regulate water in the Dee catchment, in doing so it is a vital part of the system that provides precious water for the households and businesses of north-east Wales.

The Visitor Centre was built by Welsh Water, a not-for-profit water company.

Welsh Water don’t have shareholders, which means that we put every single penny we make straight back into keeping bills down and looking after your water and beautiful environment – now, and for years to come. We think it’s a much better way of doing things.

We are constantly working hard to improve and enhance your visitor experience at Llyn Brenig Lake and have exciting plans for the future.

Whether you are up for a monster hike or a gentle stroll with a buggy, stretch your legs, breathe in deep and enjoy your walk.

Visitor Centre

The Visitor Centre is the best place to start your visit. A warm welcome and hot cuppa will be here to greet you. No visit will be complete without a bite to eat and a drink in our café. Here you can relax, refuel and take in the views across the water. Watch the birds fly around outside in their natural habitats, from the balcony or through the floor to ceiling windows.
